Try Hockey for Free Presented by SCHEELS

Try Hockey for Free presented by SCHEELS is back for another season!  The local youth hockey associations invite you to get padded up and give the great sports of hockey a try.  

Try Hockey for Free is limited to ages 5-8. Youth hockey equipment will be provided. 

Registration is required and will close Thursday before each event.

October 3: 3:00-4:30

Try Hockey for Free Dates at Tri-County Ice Arena

October 17: 3:00-4:30

November 7: 3:00-5:00 (Small Ice)

Join us for some fun on the ice!

Get padded up and join us for some fun on the ice.  No skating experience is needed, hockey equipment is provided.  Due to our ever changing world and opportunities this season Try Hockey for Free is limited to skaters age 5 to 8 years old.  Registration is required and will close Thursday at noon before each event.  We look forward to offering more opportunities in the future.   

COVID-19 Update

Due to our ever changing world we have made a few adjustments to our program this season.  The health and safety of our guests, participants, and volunteers will remain our #1 priority during this event.  Please know that this event requires contact with participants to fit them with equipment and assist them on the ice.  Participants will be in close contact with volunteers.  Please know that situations may change that require us to adjust event times, venues, and requirements.  You will be kept updated on any changes through the email provided during registration.  See the following outline of program change.  Additional info can be found on the Q & A on the registration page.  

  • Face masks/coverings will be required by all attending, volunteering, or participating in this event.  They may be removed when on the ice.
  • Registration is required and will close Thursday before event.
  • Registration limited for 5-8 year olds.
  • Maximum event registrations numbers have been lowered to keep skater groups small
  • Spectators are limited to 2 adults per skater/family.
  • Event arrival times will be staggered and assigned.
  • Skater measurements are required to prepare equipment bags. Equipment bags will be prepared in advance to limited volunteer contact.
  • Spectators, participants, and volunteers are asked to self monitor for any COVID-19 symptoms.  If you have a fever or other symptoms please do not attend.
